To edify the believer and to be a witness to the unbeliever.

The goal of Common Ground Christian Coffeehouse is to reach out to community members in a setting that is comfortable, and enjoyable, while being surrounded by the witness of the Christian Community through music, art, and fellowship. Our hope is to encourage Christians to make their faith part of their lifestyle, rather than just a Sunday morning ritual. We desire to reach out to those who are seeking, so that they may see what that lifestyle is about and be compelled to make the next step and take their search to one of the sponsoring local churches, and/or youth ministries. We also hope to provide a opportunity for churches, as well as other interdenominational ministries, to make their resources known. Some examples of these resources are Teen Challenge, CareNet, Young Life, Campus Crusades, Our Father’s Table, Christian Performing Arts Center, and after-school Bible Studies. We pray that Common Ground can become a place where each separate church can come together under one mission, in order to offer neutral ground, to meet as the united body of Christ. We are thriving in a local region where the Christian community is starting to grow and reach our cities and towns in a new and exciting way. For many who have never stepped foot into a church before, the very idea is intimidating. Because of that, a mission such as Common Ground will allow us to bring the Gospel to men and women of all ages and walks of life in our community in a relevant way, rather than waiting in our churches for them to come to us. Besides the clear opportunity for outreach to those who are not part of the church, it also provides the opportunity for groups such as the pastor’s prayer group, and the events that they sponsor, a new place to come and find that “common ground” that is often hard to find because of the denominational lines that tend to be drawn. In the midst of this show of unity, Common Ground will make a huge impression upon the community and bring people in, and expose them to the good news found in Jesus Christ. We sincerely believe that by having our location on Main Street it will add a new, safe, and attractive component to the businesses already in place. It will help build a positive atmosphere to the downtown area in a way that is not overbearing, but rather welcoming, safe, and of moral, Christian values.

Let us not give up meeting together…but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
